If you’re a lover of Portland comedy you already know that the Siren Theater is a great place to laugh your ass off. And while their calendar is always brimming with great, funny stuff, I’d like to draw your attention to a very good sketch comedy show that I was invited to preview last night: The Sisters of Mercy.
Billed as “divine sketch comedy” this all-women sketch group features a holy juggernaut of top-notch Portland talent, including Shelley McLendon, Laura Sams, Lori Ferraro, Erin Jean O’Regan, and Marie Murphy. Together they’ve devised a whip-smart night of intelligent, super funny sketches that poke fun at (and with) everything from the Catholic church to creepy dolls to animal shows to youth pastors and it is all GREAT. So yes, you bet your butt I recommend it!
Get your tickets now and here for any of the next three Saturday shows (November 16, 23, & 30), 8 pm at the Siren Theater (315 NW Davis), $10 advance, $15 at the door. OR….
