While some of you were undoubtedly enjoying your weekend cooling off in a nearby waterhole or in the comfort of your air conditioning, a bunch of us gathered under the Hawthorne Bridge (of all places) for two full days’ worth of free live music. Also, I’ve gotta say: I’m impressed with how much the food and beverage options have improved at the fest in recent years. I’ve gotten so used to eating at Le Bistro Montage before rolling … Read More

Kristen Arnett has amassed a large following on Twitter, in part for refusing to reveal the location of a lizard to 7-Eleven’s corporate Twitter account because she didn’t want to “narc” on her new reptilian friend. She had met the lizard in the course of her regular wine run to the convenience store.

The only thing more Florida than that is her debut novel, Mostly Dead Things, which has caught fire in the press. This … Read More

Oregon will have two chances next year to approve new legislation requiring gun owners to safely store their weapons when they aren’t using them. The issue will first go to the Oregon Legislature, but if elected officials once again fail to pass the reforms, the issue will be decided by voters on the 2020 ballot.

The reforms in question date back to 2018, when a group of state gun control advocates attempted to get a measure on that year’s Read More

Joey Gibson, the leader of alt-right group Patriot Prayer, says a lawsuit filed against him by Portland bar Cider Riot is simply a tool to limit his constitutional right to protest.

In a legal motion filed this afternoon, Gibson’s lawyer James Buchal (who also serves as the chairperson of Multnomah County GOP) argues that his client is the target of a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP), a name for litigation … Read More

Oh local burger restaurant cashier, I caught a good look at the hand-crafted porn you had drawn on on the iPad behind the counter. You’re too talented for that sad, dingy, union-busting hole. Get out of there and let your artistic wings spread, like the legs and butt of the person in your weirdly explicit doodle.

How to make row specific queries in forms

I have a table Meals with four columns: mealDate, breakfast, lunch, supper (the latter three are all yes/no checkboxes). There are many of the same mealDates, provided by different users, and I want to make a report that only shows one of each date, and the number of checked boxes for each column.

I am trying an approach like this:

SELECT COUNT(Breakfast) FROM Meals WHERE mealDate=Me.mealDateTextBox.Value;

The problem I encounter here is “Me.mealDateTextBox.Value” only references the first date in the table, and every count

I don’t care which one you go by: Patriot Prayer, #HimToo, Occupy Ted’s House. We all know they’re the same thing. We know you’re going to show up with the same 18 people. We know you’re going to use a lot of adjectives to describe your friend so we know that person ticks all the boxes that lib-ruls should love. We also know that you’re going to pretend you’re “from Portland” when you still get mail and pay taxes in Salt Lake … Read More
