After many infuriating losses caused and endured by our Portland Trail Blazers, I have decide to voice my frustration. And, in the fashion of a true Portlander, I have decided to target the player that is a true representation of the NBA establishment: Carmelo Anthony.

First of all, my position as a bottom tier basketball player in my day and a bottom tier basketball viewer (I can’t name half the teams in the NBA) does in no way qualify me to criticize … Read More

Is there a way to make drop-down boxes whose text options are predicated on the drop-down boxes above them?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

Hello r/MSAccess, sorry if that title didn’t make much sense.

Long story short, I’m making an Access database for work and I want it to be able to use drop-down boxes because some of my employees can’t spell for their lives and it makes filtering queries harder than it needs to be. For the purposes of this post, let’s say I’m making a database of gamers and one of the things I want the database to handle is their favorite game.

Insert New Data Fails on Unbound Form into Linked SQL Table

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I am having some trouble getting data inserted into a new row on my Linked SQL Table from within an unbound form in Access.

The form is unbound as well as all of it’s controls. These are used as data entry placeholders, where the data will be stored to the SQL table using VBA and SQL. Unfortunately, when executing my code from a button, I get a “ODBC – insert on a linked table ‘XXX’ failed.”

I am not sure what is causing this.

ComboBox with Multiple Fields error

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I want to make a dashboard type menu Form that has buttons to take you to various forms, queries or reports for specific records.

I thought I would start by creating a combo box with a records ID and Name fields (two separate fields) since users may know one or the other or neither and want to browse.

But whenever I do this I get an error:

“The value you entered isn’t valid for this field. For example, you may have entered text in

Control Unbound

Hello,So in my new job I have adopted this horrendous MS Database, my issue at the moment is I am trying to add a new Yes/No field onto a form.

  • I have created the new field in the back end, on the server.
  • In design view, included the new field in the query.
  • Dragged the new field from the control list to the form.
  • At run time, the form/query drops the field and shows that it is now unbound.

I have:

  • Run compact and

Newbie here: Is there a way to link single records to separate tables?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

Let’s say I have a records containing clients (First Name, Last Name, Email). Most clients we have at my company have multiple projects with various fields (Project Numbers, Project Names, Project Leader, Descriptions, Dates, etc.) I’m having difficulty figuring out if there’s a way to link a record with a new table that contains all of the information associated with that client.

Maybe there’s a better way of doing this, but honestly I’m unsure since I’m new to using Access. YouTube doesn’t seem to

Cry Babe, Deathlist, Spoon Benders, Elly Swope
It feels like I hear Cry Babe’s “Soft Honk” song everywhere I go, and I might. Not only is it a relatable, catchy, funny song about street harassment, but singer Anaïs Genevieve’s unusual contralto delivers the mundane tale with an unforgettable “Northern ballad” style of singing—like Morrissey, but punk, and all her own. The indie rock three-piece is locally beloved for their unique, soft punk approach, which sometimes touches on baroque pop (like … Read More
