Borrowing Gen Z’s love for labelling everything, I’m a 46-year-old homoromantic asexual Canadian faggot. For me that means I’d like to love and be loved by another man but I’d hate having sex with him. To add a vexing complication, I also need some sort of power imbalance. Ideally, I would fall somewhere between being a man’s sub and being his slave. I’ve been searching for this since I came out in my early twenties. I’ve tried everything. Online, … Read More

With presidential debates that look like drunk guys arguing over fabricated sports stats – it makes since why we are a little skeptical.
Old white guys aside, there are some things to be hopeful about. We are not alone in our uncertainties – each and every … Read More

Is it possible to create a primary key from within a make table query?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I’m trying to set the primary key from within the table, so that if I have to go back and update the data for whatever reason I don’t then have to open the table and manually add the primary key. Is this something that can be done and if so how?

CSV Import Issue – Access 2013

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I have a table with only two columns: FileID and FileSize. FileSize is set to Double to accommodate large file sizes. My problem is that when I import a CSV with the following structure to an existing table:

FileID,FileSize
1,6110471853

Access barfs a Type Conversion error and doesn’t import the Size value. I can manually paste that value into the table, but I can’t find a way for Access to treat that number as Double when importing. It insists on treating it as Long

Building a knowledge base in Access – template?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

The company I work for has a new cloud database that is hosted by a vendor. The vendor manages the big stuff like troubleshooting issues, coding, design and enhancements. But there are a few staff (like me) who manage the day to day stuff like data entry and management, user training, etc. For the things that we manage day to day I’d like to create a knowledge base to capture instructions on basic functions, FAQs, and how to resolve user questions/issues. Basically the kind

What is the difference between Combo Boxes vs List Boxes?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I need to write 10 differences and I got the basic understanding.

  1. In combo boxes, we can only select one option from a list. while List boxes allow us to select multiple options from a list.
  2. A list box is a list of data you can select from while a combo box is a list that your user can add to
  3. In List Boxes, we can use checkbox within Listbox5 but we can’t with combo box
  4. For list boxes, we have both a drop-up
