Good morning, Portland! Set a countdown clock for June 14—when Shun Fat finally opens on SE 82nd—and gather ’round.

Here are the headlines.

Climate, Change: Juliana v. US, in which a teenager sues the United States government for failing to act on climate change, will hit the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals right here in Portland this morning. The judge’s decision could determine whether or not the case lives to see another day.

Creating a Min-Max Time Calculation based on Transaction IDs

Good morning everyone,

I’m needing to calculate total time of a transaction. My report currently gives me the time it takes to complete individual actions in an overall transaction. Each action in a set transaction has the same transaction ID. I’m needing to take the minimum time (start time) in each transaction and the max time (end time) and calculate an overall elapsed time so I can account for time between actions.

I also have it broken down into the number of

Problem Appending CSV File To Table With Primary Key

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I am trying to append a CSV file to an existing table that has a primary key, but the first value from the CSV file is not being copied across, and an error message ‘Null value in an auto-number field’ is generated.

I can create the table without a primary key and subsequent CSV imports work OK, but my relatively limited Access knowledge tells me that a primary key is preferable.

Can anyone offer some insight into what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

IIf() statement not working in criteria field

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I want to create a query form where fields that are left blank do not affect the query. So far using this code in the criteria has worked wonders:

Like [Forms]![FormName]![ControlName] & “*”

However, the issue arises when it comes to numbers as enter the number ‘1’ will yield results like ’10’ and ‘100’. I’ve tried using this code in the criteria but I get nothing:

IIf(isNull([Forms]![FormName]![ControlName]), “*”, [Forms]![FormName]![ControlName])

Everything that I have researched so far has lead me to

A Fancy New Box Set Makes the Case for Traffic as One of the Best Bands of All Time

For me, the most exciting part of Avengers: Endgame wasn’t when our comic-book pals tumbled through time, or space-punched the bad guys, or saved the world from kingdom plum. For me, it came during the movie’s opening passages, when Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy” blasted out of the speakers, its buzzing-bee guitars serving not just as a “Comedy Tonight”-style opening number for the film, but offering, perhaps, a philosophical mantra for what we were about to see—a psychotropic commentary on the … Read More

It’s a proven fact that summer and baseball go hand in hand, and from June until mid-August, Portland is home to one of the best ballpark experiences in the country. In just three short seasons, the Portland Pickles (whose 2019 season kicks off tonight) have gone from charter members of the now-defunct Great West League to a powerhouse club in a competitive West Coast League. The WCL has produced dozens of major leaguers throughout the years, including current Yankees … Read More
