Formatting and updating a SQL Time(0) field in a Continuous Form?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I have a linked SQL table with a StartTime and EndTime that are time(0) formats. In Access, I have a continuous form listing records with these times. These times will show up as “hh:nn:ss”. I would like to format these time fields so they show up as “h:nn:ss AM/PM” and still allow it to be edited. As far as I am aware, using Format() on these will prevent any changes from occurring.

My thought of approaching this was to have the StartTime/EndTime fields hidden,

I’m a 38-year-old woman who lost my husband to cancer a few years ago. He was the love of my life, we had an overall wonderful relationship physically and emotionally, and I watched him watch himself die painfully. Needless to say, it was (sometimes still is) fucking brutal and it’s been a long road to feeling like myself again. I have seen a specialized therapist since he died and got a dog. Through all the work on healing, my heart and

This entire story is about family and to find out that Dom has a supposed “brother”—a so-called brother who is, presumably, a somehow-in-the-course-of-eight-movies-a-heretofore-never-mentioned Toretto—is bullshit. I am absolutely livid about this, and you should be too.

How is it that it’s 2020 and you still think you have to shout into your cell phone? You do realize that your microphone is designed to pick up a normal volume of speech right? I find this insanity is most common among people who grew up in the pre-cellphone era, and are terrified that without wires their precious pearls of grocery store wisdom will be lost forever. How can you not understand that screaming into your phone does not boost the … Read More

Very Large CSV’s can’t link table

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

I have to work with large CSV’s, that only a relatively small portion is of interest (~10% or less). I didn’t have any issues with having multiple csv’s in the 200-300MB range by using vba to:

  • Creating a linked table to the file
  • SQL query for values of interest, insert into access table.

Yesterday I received one that was getting close to 2 GB. When I tried to create a linked table, access just froze. I left it for ~ an hour while I

On Friday, February 7, City of Portland representatives will meet with the Portland Police Association (PPA) to discuss the protocols for upcoming bargaining negotiations over the PPA’s contract with the city. The meeting is expected to turn contentious—the two sides don’t have a history of agreeing on much—and the public has been invited to attend.

The meeting will focus on the basic guidelines for what could be months of negotiations between the city … Read More

I won’t be drinking a drop of alcohol in 2020. I’m doing a dry year; a way to try on sobriety for size and hopefully reset my relationship with drinking. Some drinks have been easy to give up—the bar’s acrid well whiskey, the Bloody Mary at brunch that renders me useless for the rest of the day—but saying goodbye to beer for 366 days (curse you, Leap Day!) will be a challenge.

What makes beer so difficult … Read More

Just one month in, 2020 has proved to be a… challenging… year on many fronts, but some small comfort can be taken that the EVALI crisis seems to have substantially abated. New cases have slowed to a trickle, and the educational campaign strongly encouraging people to cease purchasing and consuming vape carts from non-licensed phony brands, such as Dank, seems to be gaining traction.

The CDC shared the following statistics:

As of Jan. 21, 2020, 2,711
