Looking for a way to remove trailing and leading blank spaces from fields on a form

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

So ideally I would just be able to prevent the spaces in the fields from making it into the table by automatically not allowing them in the field on the form, however if I can’t how do I remove them in the table after the fact? Its just slightly annoying to have to go through 1000’s of records to find a ” ” which isn’t apparent at the end of an item. Albeit the spaces at the end don’t affect the database as much.

VBA for MS Access front end to connect to Linked SQL Table.

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

When I run an Access Query that pulls from a Linked SQL Table, I’m prompted for a password. How can I use VBA to avoid that blasted sign in prompt.?! I have looked into ADO but not clear. I don’t want a recordset object. I want to establish a connection, then use a docmd to run a query on the linked table. Thanks!

Production database has "Long Integer" field that should have been "Decimal". What is the best way to fix it?

Best Microsoft Access Programmer Portland OR

Access won’t allow me to simply change the type in this case, so I had thoughts about exporting the data, changing the type, then importing it back. I also thought about adding a new field at the end of the table with the proper type, then renaming the old/new fields to each other so that existing queries/reports/etc. all drew from the new field. Will this work? Have I considered all of the methods? Is there a “best” method for this?
